Green Fuchsite Phantom Quartz - The Crystal of the Earthly Spirit

     Green Fuchsite Phantom Quartz is a fairly rare variety of Quartz Crystals from the Madagascar locality.  The Green Fuchsite are included within the Quartz Crystals as phantoms and often times they are pyramidal, with quite ethereal looking overall. 

     Please be aware, there are Green Fuchsite Phantom Quartz Crystals on the market that are labeled as Celadonite Phantom Quartz, and there is certain controversy surrounding it.  In reference to the available research information, Celadonite is a Mica group mineral that occurs in altered volcanic rocks, while the Fuchsite Inclusions Quartz from Madagascar are found in metamorphic rocks.  From an analysis by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) that was published on the Fall 2009 Gems & Gemology Lab Notes (www.gia.edu/doc/FA09.pdf), the Green Inclusions within a Quartz sample from Madagascar was identified as Fuchsite.   However, there is yet any official report that have confirmed any of the Green Phantom Inclusion Quartz Crystal from the Madagascan locality as Celadonite.
